How it works
Eco-Campus follows a flexible, internationally recognised Seven Steps Framework that helps higher education institutions embed sustainability across campus operations, teaching, research and student life.
Each participating institution establishes a student-led Eco-Committee to lead the process, supported by its National Operator through training, resources and ongoing guidance. The framework encourages a whole-institution approach, engaging students, academic staff, facilities teams and senior leadership.
Institutions that successfully implement the methodology can achieve the Eco-Campus Green Flag: an internationally recognised symbol of excellence in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).
Is Eco-Campus available in my country?
Eco-Campus is delivered through a growing network of National Operators around the world. If the programme is already available in your country, your National Operator will guide your institution through the Eco-Campus framework and Green Flag certification process.
